Premier League champions Manchester City are prepared to open talks for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as they bid to sign the Englishman in time for the 2021/22 season. It was revealed by popular transfer guru Fabrizio Romano that Manchester City intend to initiate discussions for Kane in the coming weeks.
Aguerosigned off on the Premier League stage with two goals as a second half substitute in the 5-0 thrashing of Everton at home on the final day of the league last weekend. The Argentine international would be hoping to make his last appearance in the Champions League final outing with Chelsea on Saturday evening. It would be thrilling for a great player like Aguero to end his Manchester City career with the Champions League trophy but his team has to get past stubborn Chelsea to make that happen.
Manchester City want Kane as Aguero’s replacement as established earlier but the club won’t make a move for the Spurs striker until after the Champions League final. Winning the Champions League trophy is the main focus for everyone associated with Manchester City at the moment.
Romano also said that the position of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is that Kane is not for sale and it would remain that way into next season unless the player forces a move away from the North London club. Spurs are in a strong position as Kane still has three years left on his current deal with the club.
